Do you rarely finish a cup of coffee? Me too. Coffee is great but sometimes it doesn’t offer me energy that can get me through the day. If you’re anything like me, you want to feel activated and ready to focus on what lies ahead. That’s why I’ve integrated cacao elixirs into my risings! I will tell you why and how to make a cacao elixir.
ceremonial grade cacao is heart opening, energizing, & grounding.
One of my friends introduced me to this type of cacao so i’ve been hooked ever since. There are many brands to choose from, the one i’m currently using is called @keithscacao.
What is ceremonial cacao?
Ceremonial grade cacao basically means that it has a minimal processing protocol so that all the nutrients stay intact. Most people are familiar with cocoa from the grocery store which is completely different in terms of health benefits you can gain from consuming it. Cocoa powder is heated to high temperatures in order to get the cacao beans to take the form of powder.
I have seen the benefits of cacao firsthand. Personally, my body feels centered, grounded and I get energy with no crash when I drink this elixir. That’s why I always recommend people to try it out. Teachers dedicate their lives to holding cacao ceremonies. That’s how potent this magical plant is! It isn’t called the food of the gods for nothing. Cacao has been used medicinally & spiritually for 1000’s of years.
What are adaptogens and why should I try them?
I also add various mushroom powders to the cacao to enhance the health benefits. Adaptogens are not limited to just mushrooms but are a category of restorative and balancing herbs. They assist in strengthening the brain and rebuilding the adrenals. They are great for relieving stress and support so many other areas of the body as well.
If you are looking for a coffee alternative some days with countless health benefits I know you will love this recipe! It offers so many different ways of healing and it is fun to make. When you create a connection with what you’re putting into your body, I truly think you can feel the benefits straight away.
Having the time and space to make a cacao elixir, or any drink that you put your energy into is a form of self love! I had resistance to it at first because I was so used to making a coffee on autopilot. One day I finally started listening to how it made me feel. Which is sometimes groggy and dehydrated…Even when I make coffee now I am so much more mindful about it and I add in some ingredients that make it more healthy.
